Hilltop String Festival
The Hilltop String Festival is an intensive program housed annually in June on the beautiful campus of Western Kentucky University, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The Festival offers dedicated string players the opportunity to deepen their musical and instrumental skill through studying with world-renowned faculty members. The program includes lessons, master classes, chamber music, performance opportunities, faculty concerts, practice coaching, and musical enrichment. Indiana University Summer String Academy
The Summer String Academy welcomes students from around the world in the months of June and July. The Summer String Academy, which began in 1984, offers serious young string players between the ages of 12 and 18 an intensive and varied program under the direction of an outstanding faculty at one of the world’s most renowned schools of music. Featured are private lessons, chamber music, master classes, performance opportunities, practice time, and the 2025 Indiana University Summer Music Festival. Western Kentucky University Summer String Institute
The WKU Summer String Institute is a concentrated week of study for violin, viola, cello, and bass students ages 4 - 18. Enrolled students will participate in master classes, group instruction, orchestral study, concerts, and musical enrichment on the campus of Western Kentucky University in the month of July. The Institute offers all students the valuable opportunity to deepen their knowledge of string playing in an engaging and exciting environment. Daraja Music Initiative
Daraja Music Initiative (DMI) is an interdisciplinary program that bridges music education and conservation education. DMI promotes conservation and sustainability of the mpingo tree (commonly referred to as African Blackwood or Grenadilla) through music education, actively engaging students and the Tanzanian community with the power of music.
